The West Virginia University Chapter of MTNA has had a busy year!

1.    Successfully competed for a $500 grant to support a guest lecturer
2.    Will sponsor a guest lecture on adult learners by Dr. Rebecca Grooms Johnson, NCTM
3.    Will sponsor a guest lecture on problem-based learning by Drs. Pei Sien Lim and Tean Hwa P’ng
4.    Joined with ASTA for the “Practice for Peace” fund-raiser. Raised $200.00
5.    Developed  a Music Advocacy activity for the “Trunk-or-Treat” event
6.    Hosted first-ever statewide Collegiate Chapters Forum at WVMTA conference
7.    Participated in a Lesson Exchange activity as a result of this Forum
8.    Volunteered as monitors for the  WVMTA conference
9.     Created and manned a table display at the WVMTA conference to promote our chapter and Collegiate Chapters in general
10.    Attended WVMTA conference sessions
11.    Organized and performed on a concert series at the Village at Heritage Point retirement community
12.    Run a keyboard tutoring program
13.    Supported members’ attendance at PSO concerts by underwriting part of the ticket cost
14.    Volunteered assistance for the music department recruiting event,  One-on-1
15.    Maintain a website http://www.wvu.edu/~mtna/ and bulletin board to promote interest in our chapter, in WVMTA and in MTNA
