The Frances Clark Center Elects New President

The Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy has elected Scott Price as its new president. Price, an MTNA Foundation Fellow, was awarded the 2008 Frances Clark Keyboard Pedagogy Award from MTNA for creating the online journalPiano Pedagogy Forum. He began his term on November 1, 2012, and is only the second president of the Center, following Marvin Blickenstaff, who held the position for 12 years.

Price currently serves as professor of piano and piano pedagogy at the University of South Carolina School of Music. Nationally and internationally recognized for his work in teaching piano to students with special needs, he received the Outstanding Graduate Alumnus award from Bowling Green State University and the 2012 Southeastern Conference Faculty Achievement Award for the University of South Carolina. He directs the Carolina Lifesong Initiative, a program that provides music experiences and lessons for students with special needs.
