Teacher of the Year Award

The MTNA Teacher of the Year will be selected from applicants nominated by state affiliates. The recipient is awarded a conference package that includes airfare, two nights at the conference hotel, conference registration and two Awards Brunch tickets.

To nominate a Teacher of the Year, state affiliates must submit the required documentation to MTNA Headquarters by November 1, 2012; each state is eligible to nominate one teacher to be considered for this national recognition.

All nominations will be made online.

The online submission form will require the following information/documents:

  • Teaching/professional achievement
  • Number of years of teaching experience
  • Evidence of teaching excellence (i.e. students’ successes)
  • Accomplishments/contributions to MTNA
  • Participation in Local, State and/or National MTNA programs
  • Community involvement
  • Former student or parent letter of support (upload document)
  • Professional colleague letter of support (upload document)
  • Nominating letter from the state organization (upload document)
