Leadership Events
The Summit for MTNA Leadership, held annually in September, is a leadership training event for the MTNA Board of Directors, Directors-elect, State President and the MTNA staff. It was designed to strengthen the MTNA connection among local, state and national levels; deal with crucial issues confronting the association; and determine MTNA’s role in the future of the music teaching profession.
The Summit for MTNA Leadership is designed to encourage networking and accomplish the following objectives:
- To better understand the workings of an association
- To plan for long-term stability of the association
- To strengthen “The MTNA Connection”: The link between local, state and national levels
- To deal with crucial issues confronting the association
- To determine MTNA’s role in the future of the music teaching profession

Affiliate Leadership Seminar
The Affiliate Leadership Seminar is designed to address challenges local associations and state affiliates face by providing leadership training and opportunities to network with colleagues in similar roles from around the country. The event is held virtually each September. All state and local affiliate leaders are encouraged to participate.
