Advanced Piano/Teaching Artistry

Artistry Can Be Taught!

Peter Mack, chair

The idea that artists are born, not made, is deeply entrenched in our musical society. However, each of the presenters on Pedagogy Saturday’s 2019 artistry track fervently believes that “Artistry Can Be Taught!” In the course of the day, they will show you how. Whether through glorious phrasing, deep-rooted historical appreciation, meticulous planning, emotional awareness or deliberate lesson preparation, each presenter will reveal the secrets that place him or her among today’s leading authorities. Rounding off the day will be two panels, one on how students can achieve success in performance competitions, the other on the creation of a strong piano technique. You won’t want to miss a single moment of this glorious day!
